VoIP becoming acceptable for Business

July 23rd, 2008

I noticed some interesting facts in a recent Dell Computers article that I read regarding the current attitude toward Voice Over Internet Protocol. According to the article, 95% of VOIP users said they would recommend or highly recommend this technology to a colleague. Most of these cite cost or functionality as the major factors. It also goes on to state that 84% of all VOIP user say that call service is as good as or better than previous traditional service. This, to me, is an amazing turn around in customer satisfaction. This is largely due to the fact that the surveyed was conducted based on small to medium sized businesses. Once you have enough users to warrant the use of a managed network, the results are so much better than the quality of service from an unmanaged system, typically DSL or cable modem. The good news is that it does not require a whole lot of users if you are sharing the voice service along with your data. I believe that once people start to experience the added functionality along with the cost savings, traditional telephone systems will become a thing of the past. Time for veterans like myself to look to the future.

That’s why TBS Phones has added VoIP Service for small and mid-sized businesses as part of  our offerings.

I really enjoyed the article that Mike Sullivan wrote in the Elgin Courier regarding VOIP for The SOHO market . He really seemed to get across the point that this is what the future holds for us in the telephone industry, which is a good thing. The advantages are limitless and the cost savings are too attractive to over look.
